Not going to lie, a sick part of me was hoping when you said Corolla, you meant something like this:

Oh, it's an AE86. Not quite a corolla... Still impressive. I'd like to see what he'd do in Charlie.

I was expecting this as well, and then the sound (my God, the sound) told me that this was no FWD econo-washing-box that we have stateside.

Now I kind of want to take a shitbox appliance Corolla and absolutely FLOG the living daylights out of it around the 'Ring.

Actually now that I think of it, it would be a fun comparison. Maybe get the same driver to do it, to take that out of the equation.
Reminds me of an old Grassroots Motorsports article, Porsche vs. Minivan. They wanted to see how one of the top 1950's sports cars compared to your average everyday appliance car of today, so they raced a 356C against a Honda Odyssey minivan. It was extremely close, with the Porsche barely eeking out a win. And then for lulz, they upgraded the minivan from 16" to 17" wheels and tires to a Z-rated compound, and it destroyed the Porsche.

I just read that article recently online. I love GRM. Tim Suddard is the freaking man.

is that the normal start stop? Where do auto manufacturers start and stop from for their official times? In gran turismo you start stop at the same place but this lap seemed to no include the straight. Is a lap longer in the game than the official timed lap irl?
